Re-House UK

According the Mayors’ Housing Report 2010 one in five Londoners live in private rented accommodation.  The private rented sector has been increasingly used to plug the social housing gap.  The standard of private sector lets has improved, and at Plexus UK we are leading the way.

Whilst consulting with Local Authority Housing Professionals a challenge we found was low income homeseekers finding a home in the private sector, due to some discrimination to tenants on welfare benefits.  Starting as an allocations tool for landlords we started to develop www.rehouseuk.com

On surveying landlords, homeseekers and local authorities we realised there was greater potential and need for a site that could:

  • empower residents to seek and choose a new home.
  • To streamline the process for Landlords, from advertising properties, letting and sustainment.
  • For the local authority to make their processes more efficient and to guide residents to use a self-service e-solution to meet their housing need.

After extensive development www.rehouseuk.com was set up as new, separate company and launched in June 2010.  It now has over 1500 homeseekers registered and over 50 properties are being let and then managed through the site every month.
